NEW!  Wisconsin state broadband grants announced. A message from Tithi Chattopadhyay, State Broadband Director, Public Service Commission of Wisconsin:

We are pleased to announce that the Public Service Commission-Wisconsin is now accepting applications for Broadband Expansion Grants for Fiscal Year 2014.

This is a new grant program adopted for the first time in the recent state budget, 2013 Wis. Act 20. Under this authority, the Commission may award up to $500,000 in grants during Fiscal Year 2014 to improve broadband communications services in Wisconsin.

The Commission expects this grant program will provide a significant step toward addressing the demand for high speed internet and IP-enabled telecommunications services in areas of the state that are currently unserved or have limited internet provider options.

Applications are due Mar 21, 2014.
