Update for the week ending 9.9.11
We have our first tower completed (above)!!! The Chippewa County tower is UP. Congrats to Chippewa County on their new tower and a special THANKS for participating in the grant and putting in the effort to erect this tower, they single-handedly mastered this one on their own and the experience will help direct us to get more installed as quickly as them.
Conduit this past week was installed in areas by the airport, finished the north crossing area, Carson Park, Mt Washington Residence and began work in Altoona. They again ran into some rock by Mt Washington slowing them down a bit. I don’t have a final numbers yet this week for footages as they are working a longer Friday due to Monday off, we are expecting somewhere around 8000-8500 feet. If you look at the attached map it is starting to look like they are close to completing most of the large runs. Next week they should finish in Altoona and the airport moving north from there with a possibility of starting the piece by Sacred Heart Hospital.
The WiMax vendor, PCS Technologies, was here to finalize contracts and view some of the initial installation locations. They are already scheduling WiMax base station installs at the end of September! Newly found information was announced at our CINC meeting that we have much more bandwidth available to us than originally expected, this is HUGE! With this we will triple our bandwidth with NO additional costs in hardware! We are aggressively looking to get this additional airspace.
